Please help us create a list of Portland area resources for dorkbots:
Wacky Willys - Gigantic surplus store that carries all manner of weirdness. Recently moved to a smaller location and has a much smaller customer space. Great place to get inspired. (CLOSED)
Norvac Electronics - Don't let the website fool you! They've got a great, accessible, walk-in store space with a fantastic selection of electronic components and chips in stock. Good, local source for electronics parts and tools.
ENU inc - Local computer retailer with warehouse/shops in both Portland and Hillsboro. Good stock, competitive prices, and local.
PNCA - The Pacific Northwest College of Art has gallery space and offers a large number of continuing education courses.
OMSI - Oregon Museum of Science and Industry is always a fun and inspiring visit.
PARTS - Portland Area Robotics Society
Cascade Surplus - Way out at 17954 SE Division St, but looks like they have some good stuff, including heavyduty switches like you'd use for a stomp box.
FreeGeek - inner SE mecca for recycling electronics and encouraging dorks.
Have you visited one of these locations? If so, please provide a summary...
radar electronics - Still alive? Website is down?
surplus gizmos - Seems interesting. Has a web store...what's the retail store like?
